Dr. School and Mr. Ladder: the double life of "ysgol" in Welsh

One is from Latin scāla, the other from Latin schola - they fell together in pronunciation in Welsh but have separate origins. Compare Englisch “to scale (a ladder)” / “(measuring) scale” and “school”.

I think they are differentiated here in Pen Llyn at least, as ‘ystol’ for ladder and ‘ysgol’ for school.Dunno how far this goes.
