Croeso! Welcome to 1 sentence in Welsh - how is it going for you?

#82

Hello, dwi isio dysgu Cymraeg! Not surprising, otherwise I wouldn’t be here, I suppose… I am actually German, but still keen to learn Welsh. For the last couple of years I have been working as a tour guide for walking holidays for a small German tour operator specialised on walking holidays in Britain. Quite a few of my tours are based in Wales - and so I got more and more fascinated by your culture and language and now decided to go for it and learn it. Since there are not too many keen walkers in the winters, I am “hibernating” as a house sitter in the Lampeter area… so if there is anyone out there who’d like to practise over a pint in that area… - I would be delighted…:beers::smiley: … after all it is a well known fact that a wee bit of alcohol helps to speak more fluently…

I haven’t been posting much (or doing much Welsh other than binge-watching Byw Celwydd ) because I’ve been sick for three weeks. So please forgive the belated but very warm welcomes to @trevor-hoggard, @emily-7, @julia-4, @tym-salt, @corina, @amyshehi, @howard-snell, @grace-quantock, @rhian-hutchings, @Neil-M

…and even more welcomes…

@katie-13, @ben-10, and @Ingrid.L ! It’s wonderful to have you all here, and we look forward to supporting you and hearing all about your Welsh journeys! :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you, I am missing it and I want to learn more but haven’t worked out which method will be best. Probably 6 minutes a day but I don’t know. If I’m away for a week or so can I save up all the 6 minutes and try to catch up when I’m home again?

#90

A very warm welcome to the forum, Ingrid, and good luck with the course…

Yes, no problem - and you can do them in bigger chunks - there’s no actual need to break them down to 6 minutes a go…

#91

Hello Polly and a warm welcome from me, too.
If you write about 6 minutes a day you’re probabliy thinking about the 2-years-course.
You don’t have to work exactly 6 minutes every day, you will get tasks to do in a time, say one week or two. If you’re away for some time it is always possible to arrange things.
And now I stop because I see that Aran beat me.
Pob lwc with the coursw.

#92

That’s good to know Brigitte, thank you :slightly_smiling_face:

#93

Thank you for your welcome, it’s good to have support in this’s forum. Glad I can do the 6 minute sessions

#94

Thank you for your welcome - I think I’m going to enjoy this :slightly_smiling_face:

#95

Welcome all. Great to have you all on here. Has anyone mentioned that there is a group that meets in Ceredigion?

#96

Diolch yn fawr… for both the welcome and the hint about the group in Ceredigion  I shall check it out for sure…:+1:

#97

@tatjana @AnnaC
Bore da a diolch yn fawr chi pawb - (not quite sure if that works like that, but you’ll probably be able to guess what I am trying to get across…) Thank you so very much for making me feel welcome. Very much appreciated!:smiley::smiley:

#98

Helo Ingrid, and welcome!
I’ve just noticed your post, and if you’re interested here’s some info about an event happening in the area.

Looks like we might aim at having it to be named the “International Ceredigion Meet Up” @dee @Nicky @sabine, with all these participants from all over the world, right?

#99

Absolutely! If anyone from anywhere in the world happens to be within driving distance of Tregaron on Feb 2nd, you’re very welcome!

#100

 I JUST mailed off a post in that Conc-edigion thread asking if I might attend… and then I look up and see your post… Thank you, yes I shall gladly come…

Diolch yn fawr! Anything that I should bring/expect/be prepared for? Being a newbe— maybe you go for a walk or everyone brings notepads because there will be serious studying done…
