How to write "he'd better" (South)

In the southern course, “he’d better” sounds like “welli ddo fe” or “welli fo fe”, but I can’t quite work it out from listening. Could you enlighten me as to how it’s written (and pronounced)?

The correct spelling is (Mae’n) well iddo fe, which literally translates to (It’s) better for him. As far as the pronunciation is concerned you are spot-on.
