Immersing your technology in Cymraeg

Just wondering if everyone is aware of the Mozilla common voice project. It was in the news a little while back.

Ive subscribed, but I think its probably looking for native speakers. The aim is to improve speech recognition in languages outside of the mainstream and Welsh is selected in the first wave.

I have just recorded a few things for their corpus - hopefully when the corpus is complete the speech recognition engine will be able to understand my garbled Welsh. Here’s the link if interested. Bangor uni are partners on this, which fits with their attempts to develop a Welsh version of Alexa etc.

Edit: A brilliant part of this one is that you get a chance to check other people’s attempts. All the ones Ive listened to have been first language speakers - a wide variety of accents - and its great to hear how people pronounce different things and you have the text of the words in front of you.
