Learning Welsh changes lives

I keep saying learning Welsh changed my life - and it has. Apart from learning the language, it has given me a post graduate research topic as well as wonderful holidays, Interesting experiences and connections as well loads of far flung friends. I met one of those friends, Carys Tew on a SSiW Bootcamp. This week Carys and her husband, Tony, came to stay with us in Victoria and, as it was Melbourne Cup long weekend, we holidayed at Gariwerd (the Grampians). We did a jigsaw. Spoke some Welsh (but mostly English due to the husbands) and went on multiple bush walks during which I managed to get everyone lost twice. To the great relief of all concerned, I elected not to go on the long challenging full day walk. But we all went to see this magnificent waterfall together.
