Lesson 22 and 23 level 2. Naeth or doedd?

Hi!

I’m just wondering what, if any, rule is used when using either “naeth o ddim…” or “doedd o ddim…” for “he doesn’t”. There seems to be two different ways to say doesn’t in lessons 22 and 23. When would you use which?

Do you remember “nes i” and “o’n i” from level 1? This is exactly the same thing but in the 3rd person negative rather than the 1st person positive.
naeth is used when the next verb was a completed action, doedd is used when the next verb is a ‘stative’ action i.e. took place over a period.
