1) Where was the last place you travelled any great distance to and what was the worst and best thing about that trip?

Napoli. Worst thing: Dogsh*t everywhere. Your dog-owning Neapolitan doesn’t like cleaning up after his/her pet.
Best thing: The contrast (for a resident of the big empty space in the middle of Wales) of being in a big city. Also being surrounded by so many lovely, happy, friendly people.

2) What do you believe in?

Social democracy.

3) Your ideal bumper sticker would say…?

Mine says Cymru Rydd yn Ewrop.

4) What are you most likely to be arrested for and who would bail you out?

Cycling furiously most likely (it’s a real offence - look it up!). I don’t think it’s that serious an offence to require bail.

5) What habits or behaviours do you engage in which you may be considered too young or old for?

I’m way too old to go to Maes B. I’m rather too young to prefer plain Vanilla flavoured yoghurt.

6) Make up your own Friday Five question and answer it!

What’s the best of all the biscuits?
Plain chocolate Hobnob. Obviously.

1) Where was the last place you travelled any great distance to and what was the worst and best thing about that trip?

Probably the Netherlands. Best thing: De Efteling. Worst thing: driving too long on the way back after my slipped disc incident, and ending up with what seems to be a permanent partial loss of sensation in my left leg. Grrrr.

But De Efteling outweighed that…

2) What do you believe in?

People.

3) Your ideal bumper sticker would say…?

YesCymru.

4) What are you most likely to be arrested for and who would bail you out?

A protest of some kind. My wife, if I was lucky, and she hadn’t been arrested at the same protest.

5) What habits or behaviours do you engage in which you may be considered too young or old for?

I think I’m now officially too old to take the recycling out. Time for some younger limbs to take over on that front…

6) What language do you most want to learn next?

Ooh, tricky question. I’ll have to go for Breton…

Cytuno cant y cant! I don’t buy them because they wouldn’t survive the journey home … the whole packet in a sitting.

Now that’s funny. :joy:

1) Where was the last place you travelled any great distance to and what was the worst and best thing about that trip?
Florida May '17. My head never let me really enjoy myself like I should have but two weeks away with the family and meeting up with and chatting to some great friends really made up for it.

2) What do you believe in?
Humanity, respect and helping others.

3) Your ideal bumper sticker would say…?
Don’t follow me … I’m lost too.

4) What are you most likely to be arrested for and who would bail you out?
Mooning Trump when he visits. Most of the world’s population I would think.

5) What habits or behaviours do you engage in which you may be considered too young or old for?
Apparently I’m too old for loads of things I do like wearing lycra (on a bike), cammo shorts, baseball caps, going to gigs, etc. Too young for driving a rover 75.

6) Make up your own Friday Five question and answer it!

Chippy chips with mushy peas, curry, beans or gravy?
Ooh, tricky question. There are other variables to take into account like what else are you having with them, your mood, whether there is fruit in the curry. It’s a minefield. I’ll go for gravy.

No, beans.

No, wait, hang on … oh, I don’t know.

1) Where was the last place you travelled any great distance to and what was the worst and best thing about that trip?
Family Holiday to New Zealand. On the outward leg between Dubai and Melbourne, someone died, so our Emirates plane became a “crime scene”. We were transferred to Air New Zealand for the final leg to Christchurch. The flight was excellent but our bags got mislaid. We had to wash our socks and knickers for 4 days until the luggage caught up with us in Invercargill. After several indignant e-mails and phone calls to Emirates, I got us upgraded from Club to First Class for our flight home. We each had our own cabin, luxurious flat beds, unlimited vintage champagne, but the best thing for me was showering at 35,000 feet! Oh, and, as a bonus, we got the full first class air miles which bought me a free all inclusive birthday trip to Dubai. None of this capped the experience of New Zealand, though, my 2nd fafourite country in the world.

2) What do you believe in?
A secular world

3) Your ideal bumper sticker would say…?
“Keep your Eyes on the Road - Ban Bumper Stickers”

4) What are you most likely to be arrested for and who would bail you out?
I’m law abiding now but had some hairy alcohol-fuelled escapades on trips to see Wales in Dublin, Paris, London or Edinburgh. The closest to being confined was when I attempted to climb the funnel of a ferry from Liverpool to Dublin. Did you know that ferries do actually have a Master at Arms and a Brig? :fearful: (No one, especially M, would have paid one penny towards my bail)

5) What habits or behaviours do you engage in which you may be considered too young or old for?
“Doing it” My daughter-in-law likes to wind up my son by telling him that, as the father of him and 2 girls, I must have “done it” at leat three times and am probably still “doing it”. You should see him squirm with excruciating non-acceptance.

6) Make up your own Friday Five question and answer it!
With thanks to the sorely missed Douglas Adams:-
Answer: 42
Question: What is 6 times 9? (It’s true in the tredecimal (13 based) system )

1) Where was the last place you travelled any great distance to and what was the worst and best thing about that trip?

Most recently: Fuertaventura in the Canaries, on what has become our usual “beat the winter blues” Jan or Feb break.

More exciting: Hurtigruten cruise from Bergen to the northern Norwegian border with Russia and back. Fabulous fabulous fabulous, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

2) What do you believe in?

Equality, justice, peace.

3) Your ideal bumper sticker would say…?

“It’s nice to be important, but it’s important to be nice”.
(just because I got that from Jonathan Ross, doesn’t mean it’s not true … ).

4) What are you most likely to be arrested for and who would bail you out?

The second Great Train Robbery: I’m going to “steal” the Train Operating Companies and give them back to the nation, to whom they rightfully belong (and all their train-related assets of course).
And amalgamate them into “British Railways: New Generation”, permanently properly funded of course. And I’ll make train travel affordable to all, rich and poor, and I’ll put loads more cycle-carrying capacity on all passenger trains.

(Oh, and I’ll put in decent north-south railways links in Wales, after lots of local consultation, of course).

(And that’s just my first day as Benevolent Dictator of the Federal Republic of Great Britain (and Northern Ireland if it absolutely insists…)).

5) What habits or behaviours do you engage in which you may be considered too young or old for?

Riding a kick-scooter. Great fun (and I’m hoping to get a much better one soon).

And because I love your contributions…
6) Make up your own Friday Five question and answer it!

What’s your greatest ambition?

To get everyone to understand Modern Monetary Theory properly, and make ordinary voters realise that the politics of austerity was all based on lies, so that when they hear elected politicians telling these lies, they will vote them out at the soonest opportunity.

Nearly 7 actually.

1) Where was the last place you travelled any great distance to and what was the worst and best thing about that trip?

Montréal - the best thing was a hike up the highest peak in Quebec

The worst - I had to spend a lot of time on my own while my friends were at work. I’m not a lone Wolf.

2) What do you believe in?

Gravity - I’m a bit left field like that

3) Your ideal bumper sticker would say…?

Queenstown (because that means I brought it back from my holiday there)

4) What are you most likely to be arrested for and who would bail you out?

Almost missed this one…

Such a good question. Emma would bail me out. I’d probably get arrested for one too many smart arsed comments.

5) What habits or behaviours do you engage in which you may be considered too young or old for?

Too young - I’m in bed at 9 on a school night.
Too old - flossing (the dance move) ha! Who am I kidding?! I don’t have that sort of coordination.

6) Make up your own Friday Five question and answer it!

If you could financially support 3 companies, which would you choose?
Only 3?! Well, Say Something In would receive a massive lump
Dragon CrossFit in Cardiff because they have already successfully helped scores of people improve their health and fitness, including people no-longer needing metformin (diabetes meds), lowered their blood pressure and stop antidepressant meds.
Almost at the other end of the spectrum, I’d reopen the Mochyn Du. Maybe call it the Mochyn Bach…as a Welsh language hub. Pub, sports club, venue, hotel rooms.

1) Where was the last place you travelled any great distance to and what was the worst and best thing about that trip?

Last big one would’ve a double header 4 dayer in Copenhagen (Denmark) and Malmo (Sweden).

Best thing: Being able to get around town and buy food, drinks etc in both languages. Also telling Swedes how I’d learned my Swedish in a week as a bit of laugh with a work friend got me a lot of smiles and laughs.

Worst thing: Couldn’t have been planned, but the day before we flew was the day the UK was engulfed in snow, which made not only travelling from Aberystwyth to Luton quite interesting… but also whether our flight was even going to take off at all.
Also having the same exact weather in Denmark, whilst no-one cared at all and life carried on as normal - was great!

2) What do you believe in?

Good things will happen to good people, and that anyone can do anything if they work hard enough.

3) Your ideal bumper sticker would say…?

I’ve currently got YesCymru, Aberystwyth Town and a Cymdeithas sticker on mine - so the only one I could add to that would be something like “Stop beeping mun, I’m not old - I’m just a boring driver” to give some sort of excuse for my old man driving.

4) What are you most likely to be arrested for and who would bail you out?

GBH - after someone put onions in my food after asking specifically for no onions.

5) What habits or behaviours do you engage in which you may be considered too young or old for?

Young: I’m a 36 year old with what could only be described as “Mid 90s indie reject hair” and skinny jeans. My whole life and being are based on being a lot younger than I am.

Old: My interest in trains and train infrastructure is really starting to worry me… It just developed to the point where I find myself watching hour long specials on the Intercity 125 - and I don’t know how it started!

And because I love your contributions…

6) If you could only eat one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Pizza, of course.

Good question … now next question … what are your ultimate pizza toppings?

I was always a “Extra cheese & tomato” person for years and years, but to the disgust of my wife and most my friends I’ve taking a liking to Pineapple…

Yeah, I kind of had you for a pineapple type person. That’s even worse than raisins in chip shop curry sauce in my opinion. At least you’ll get the whole pizza to yourself.

triggered

1) Where was the last place you travelled any great distance to and what was the worst and best thing about that trip?

Asia.

This bit didn’t count as a good day. With apologies to all the good cyclists out there.

Best bit. Getting to know my small nephew over several months

2) What do you believe in?

God and kindness.

3) Your ideal bumper sticker would say…?

My next car will be a bicycle.

4) What are you most likely to be arrested for and who would bail you out?

No idea, but my ever loving other half would rescue me. On my somewhat half hearted bucket list is the desire to be arrested for something. Not to go to prison, or really even to break the law, but just to be arrested.

5) What habits or behaviours do you engage in which you may be considered too young or old for?

I wear pretty brightly coloured swimming costumes that some might consider a bit outrageous.

And because I love your contributions…

6) Make up your own Friday Five question and answer it!

What piece of technology would you disinvent?

Television.

Definitely demonstrating! It’s been close a few times!
No doubt my long suffering wife would bail me out
