Using "Wi"?

Shwmae pawb!

Dw i’n edrych Bregus ar S4C a dw i’n clywed “wi” yn aml.

For example:

Wi dal yn teimlo’n…”

Excuse my switching to English but Google translate doesn’t have anything for “Wi” and searches online bring up references to the Women’s Institute in Wales .

Presumably it means the same as “fi” but I’ve never seen or heard it before?

Is this common to a particular part of Wales?

Diolch.

wi is another way of saying dwi - which is used is just down to personal/regional preference. more common in the South, I’d say.
