Welsh learner badge/ bathodyn dysgwr Cymraeg

With regards to the learners badges post earlier, I have contacted the Welsh language commissioner’s office and have been told that Dysgu Cymraeg badges are available from the Cymraeg i oedolion/Welsh for Adults centres around Wales.
If you are already on a course you “should” have had them on by now, I am on a Welsh for Adults course and my class haven’t yet, so they are sending obe out to myself and some to my tutor for the rest of her students. So if you haven’t had one…ring them direct.

Or you can also get the Dysgu Cymraeg badges from your local Menter Iaith.

They had dysgwr badges at the Eisteddfod in Dynbych 2 years ago. They’re not quite as “stand-out” as the orange Cymraeg badges, but they’re pretty good when it comes to trying to get shop keepers in Criccieth to slow down

Hi Chris - do you know if the badges are available to any Welsh learner or do they have to be enrolled in a Welsh for Adults course? I’m also interested to know what they look like when they arrive. They had some new badges at the Eisteddfod in Llanelli where the word ‘Dysgwr’ was so tiny it was really hard to see. I hope these ones are better.

Menter have them for non Cymraeg i oedolion learners. I had mine this week, wearing it with pride with success all ready. Get yours now peeps!

A lady came into the shop yesterday and she had a orange badge which was shaped like a speech bubble, it was so tiny that I couldn’t read the writing. I was sure it was a cymraeg badge. Now I wish I’d asked her. Might missed an opportunity to have my first chat in Welsh there. Well I’ve had a few but it’s difficult in work.
