21st of July, Gig Agoriadol Yr Ŵyl - Omaloma, HMS Morris & R Seiliog - free Aberystwyth open air gig!!!

7 - 10 pm at the bandstand.

Is anyone at this and fancy a sgwrs dros beint? Although I’m really into rock, radio cymru’s introduced me to a lot of other genres I wouldn’t have given the time of day to, I’m really enjoying Omaloma at the moment!

Just to say that my wife and I really enjoyed last evening at Y Gwachel (Pontardawe Inn). Elin Flur and her band from Lanfair PG and also Sian Richards from Swansea. Lovely to hear them talking in their respective accents followed by “English subtitles” (translation).

Just giving a bit of a plug for one of my favourite singers Lowri Evans. She recently launched an excellent new CD through Pledge Music with her partner Lee Mason. They still have lots of other tempting goodies on offer - see the link below for details . I ordered a bespoke song which I’m very excited about as Lowri says it has now been written and is on its way to the recording studio! Can’t wait to hear it.

This link says that the project is now closed but Lowri says she is very happy to take further orders for bespoke songs or her other special treats!

Lowri and Lee can be contacted on Lowri’s Facebook page or her website has contact details

I really enjoy discovering the musicians mentioned here, and I wonder if any SSIW people remember a link to a YouTube video that showed up somewhere on the forum four years or so ago. A delightful Welsh group performed Leonard Cohen’s “Alleluia” in Welsh. The video was set in a stable with a live manger scene. The performance was absolutely haunting, and I cannot remember the name of the group. I would be most grateful for any leads!
