Level 2 challenge 20 welsh

#1

Hello
The translation of ‘if I ask you to to help me’ opens differently in this challenge to that in challenge 19.’ I would be grateful for any suggestions. Thank you

Hi @martin-powis

I think in challenge 19 it uses an abbreviated form…

‘sen i

Whereas challenge 20 uses a less contracted version which is:

Tasen i

There are lots of variants of this including having a Pe in front ie Pe tasen i and with Pe some prefer to use basen. All mean ‘If I were to’ in long hand English…and the contractions in Welsh are various shortenings of the same.

( As discussed elsewhere on the forum, textbooks tend to have a ‘wn’ ending vs ‘en’ )
