While I’m on a roll. Why does the ‘f’ fall off the end of words sometimes? ‘Nesaf’ becomes ‘nesa’. ‘Byddaf’ becomes ‘bydda’…etc. Slang? Or is there some hidden rule that is - er - hidden?
No hidden rule, just something that happens naturally in speech. It happens in English too (e.g. with the letter ‘g’), we just tend not to notice because we’re so used to it… e.g. Are you goin’ to the pub tonight? Are you workin’ tomorrow?
