Welsh version of Wordle -- Gairglo

Today I used up five of the vowels in just two tries. Hmmmm…

I’m disappointed when I solve it too quickly as it’s over :joy:

On today’s I got it alright but one of my guesses was ‘cennu’.
(Kinda by accident, I think it happened as I was trying the word ‘cennin’ - yes I know it isn’t 5 letters but my mind was not summoning much welsh! - my refusal to stop listening to Raidió na Gaeltachta whilst I was doing the gairglo probably didn’t help it much though :joy:)

The point is, when I clicked to look for the definition of ‘cennu’, it came up with no definition…
And yet it was accepted as a word so that’s interesting. Does anyone here know what it means?
I don’t suppose it’s a verb form of cennin!

I’m not sure I get every detail (in any language), but sounds like a nice thing to imagine while having a morning coffee!

Well, in a country where it is quite important, it would make sense to have a dedicated verb “To leek” in English or “pòrrere” in Italian

Or porrutu in Basque

I find it helpful to write a list of them on a notepad and keep them handy.

I use the same two words every day to start, then go from there. I need to use the dictionary though as my range is not good enough without.

No need for any help today - I got it in 1. :grinning::grinning:

If you are stuck and have Ap Geiriaduron ar fy ffôn, it can use * as a wildcard. Although lots of the words will be too big for Gair-glo, it can give me ideas to look through the results. I think I am successful without it almost half the time I try.

I didn’t know that about Ap Geiriaduron - very useful!

Getting better at this! Thank you to the OP for posting about this app!

The patterns that the coloured sqares make on the results screen are sometimes quite interesting. Heddiw, I got one that looks a bit like some mysterious creature with glowing eyes!

Yes, that result is strangely symmetrical!
