Oxford walks

If you’re fortunate enough to have tomorrow afternoon free, Mon 9 May, do join us for another Wytham Wood walk+sgwrs (details same as April 22 post above) :walking_woman::walking_man::slightly_smiling_face:

Helo bawb - June already and, for those of you interested in joining us for a walk+sgwrs, there’s a new Doodle poll where you can indicate which dates you might be free to join us: https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/e986XQPd (as usual, it’s one click for dates you think you can make it or two clicks if your not sure yet).

And just to repeat a post from while back post on this thread…

Do get in touch if you have any questions

Helo bawb - first,my apologies for the lack of :walking_woman::walking_man: recently. :slightly_frowning_face:

Now that summer holidays are fast approaching and some of you away from home or at home with plantos, are any of you nonetheless still be interested in having a walk+sgwrs or two over the holiday period (it could be with non-Welsh speaking partners and/or kids if that makes it easier for you)?
Let me know or if you’ve any questions. :slightly_smiling_face:

No apology needed!
My availability is still very limited, but the offer of 2pm from Radley on a Sunday is still open. 17, 24, 31 July anyone?

It’s a while now since our last :walking_woman: walk+sgwrs :walking_man: Would anyone be interested in a walk+*sgwrs *on Sat 24/Sun 25 Sept? :slightly_smiling_face: Friends/families/partners all welcome whether or not they have any Welsh, just as long as they’re happy for some of our chat to be in Welsh :slightly_smiling_face:

Or this Saturday 1st October?

Helo bawb - we’re hoping to arrange another walk+sgwrs on one of the next four Saturday afternoons, i.e. 22nd, 29th Oct, 5th, 12th Nov or possibly on Thursday 27th Oct, 3rd Nov or 10th Nov. If you’re free on one of these days and would like to join us, or have any questions, do get in touch :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi John,
I’m free on the 12th after about 1:30pm (not that that would leave us with much light…), and I’m free on the 3rd and 10th as well. Looking further ahead I’m away on Sat the 19th but after that I should be free most Saturdays and Thursdays.
See you tomorrow gobeithio,
Chris.

Helo bawb - if the weather’s dry between Christmas and the New Year :crossed_fingers: it would be good to fit in a walk+sgwrs :walking_man: to blow the cobwebs away if people are interested (perhaps with gwin poeth+minspeis :grinning: ).
Post a message here or send me a PM if you think you might be interested

Chris,
Linda can make either of those days so that makes three of us, at least :slightly_smiling_face:

Helo bawb - the weather’s looking promising for Thursday 29th so let’s go ahead with the walk+sgwrs. What about another trip to Wytham Wood? Maybe meeting up outside Wytham Village Hall would be a good idea so there’s not need for anyone to cycle up that hill to reach the Wytham Wood entrance?

Helo bawb - this year we’re hoping to have a :walking_woman:walk+sgwrs :walking_woman: at least monthly. The idea is to practise Welsh (or simply just listen!) in a relaxed way as we go. Across a table in a cafe/pub etc gaps in conversation can often feel a bit awkward. On the other hand, while walking, gaps in conversation feel quite natural. The sgwrs/chat’s a mixture of Welsh & English, and newcomers, visitors, partners & children are all welcome whether learning Welsh or not (dogs :dog2: welcome too, provided everyone’s comfortable with that). We aim to start from places reasonably accessible by public transport and usually at a weekend, although there may be weekday walks too if there’s interest. Get in touch if you’d like to join us or would like to know more. :slightly_smiling_face:

(To give you an idea, these are the walks+sgwrs we’ve had over the past 5 years here:
Oxford SSiW walks.pdf (672.4 KB) - let me know if you have a route suggestion :slightly_smiling_face: )
