9 Bach are on tour across the UK in October. (I’ve already booked my ticket for the Cardiff gig )
I LOVE listening to Byd Huw Stevens and am so up for attending more gigs in Cardiff (when I can get away from the kids!). Is there a little group who meet up for Cardiff gigs or is this thread more about just posting what’s on?
There is this other thread which has been a bit quiet lately, but it could be revived Looking for a Gig Buddy
Gig rhad ac am ddim yn Wrecsam 2 Chwefror 2020: Dydd Miwsig Cymru
Adwaith
Eitha Da
Chroma
Worldcub
Melin Melyn
Meilir
Can we count this as a gig? There will be singing… it’s just that the performers are the audience and the audience are the performers!
Since Catrin has promoted this thread in the weekly email, now would probably be a good moment to introduce a couple of great resources from Y Selar, the music magazine published on a slightly irregular basis with the assistance of the Welsh Books Council.
Firstly, there’s a gig calendar at https://selar.cymru/gigs/ - It’s quite comprehensive in that it covers a wide range of genres, not just the rock/pop that tends to dominate the magazine itself.
But even better than that, the same calendar is available to add to your own device (or even to Microsoft Outlook) so you’ll never miss the opportunity to experience some live Welsh music. The instructions are at https://selar.cymru/gigs-tanysgrifio/ .
Gwych, diolch, Rob! X
do you know if the magazine gets printed? I’ve seen it on issu or whatever, but would love to by copies and back issues if they are available…
Diolch!
You can’t buy copies because it’s free!
It’s distributed to Welsh language bookshops and record shops and via the Menter Iaith movement. I’m not sure how you’d go about getting hold of a printed copy outside of Wales, though.
Ahh Diolch Rob. I am living in Cardiff now so will keep an eye out in the shops etc. I’ll try tweeting them to see if they will sort me out with some back issues too!
